There is a path. It begins in innocence. It is carried by interaction through the energy of love. It is borne by hard work to completion.
We start in innocent hope. The love of the vision is what carries us through what can be a real old slog. To completion. To home.
You may try to carry the load yourself, and ultimately, you do. But you cannot sustain the love alone. You must find another to help.
We simulate this love with those around us. As children, we simulate the love with our parents. Then our peers and siblings. Then our partner or spouse.
We look to find the shadow part of us in others. It is more than this though.
In Jungian psychology, that shadow holds the hidden and subdued parts of our character or soul. Jungian psychology seeks to unify our soul into a cohesive and balanced whole.
This is what our body does. It unifies fragments of souls into an experience that looks like a single personality. A ‘whole’ person.
But this is only like the way our brain synthesizes the signal from different sensory organs together as one whole ‘experience’ when in reality there is a huge amount of data being synthesized and refined down to the essentials – a whole lot of ‘noise’ removed so that we can experience a moment as though it is a single, unified experience.
It is not. It is chaotic mayhem, and you cannot sense all because it would be like white noise. Overload. Meaningless.
Of course, this means that some of the signal will be lost amongst the noise. What you call noise, I call signal.
And so we experience the world in many different ways so that our unified experience may be synthesized to become the cogent experience of one much greater than ourselves.
Thus was born the concept of us being emanations from the godhead.
We all know intuitively that there are polarities in all our experiences.
This allows us to distinguish. With no polarity there is no spectrum of experience.
Do you wonder why our categories of experience are becoming finer grained?
There is a cosmic joke here. As our world becomes more complex, it becomes necessarily more interdependent.
As above, so below. But that is an infinity of aboves, and an infinity of belows.
Chaos theory would have that a flap of a butterfly’s wings may indirectly cause a storm in a far away country.
But the interactions are more subtle. More profound.
A huge action may cause no more than a fast-forgotten blip in the consciousness of history, while a synchronistic intake of breath may change the course of the Universe.
Imagine a wedding, with champagne glasses stacked high, a single glass at the top of the stack.
Imagine you were pouring fizzy frothy consciousness rather than champagne.
The consciousness at the top fills, and pours down to glasses below.
These slowly fill until they too overflow to the glasses below.
Finally, the glasses at the bottom are full – but where does the consciousness go from there? Does it run over? Or is that where consciousness stops?
There are those amongst us whose consciousness flows to others.
They have complex personalities, needing to synthesize the fragments of consciousness to and from those below.
And those at the bottom are little more than automatons – simple soul fragments that are driven to project the soul of the universe in unidirectional ways.
These are the great artists. The great actors on the world’s stage. The great leaders. Those driven to the worst atrocities. Those who feel the driving burden of ‘greatness’.
Yet these are the people you should feel great sympathy for, as they have the least volition amongst us, driven by the force of a single soul partial that fills their whole being.
The universe flows through them, spills out of them, takes them to the extremes of experience. Burning brightly.
Yet the champagne glass above sits atop those brightly burning souls. Synthesizing fragments to an experience that is a unique combination that may cause its own genius. Or madness.
And so on, back up, until we reach the single champagne glass that may seem to pour energy out to all of us, but in reality, synthesizes the experience of the universe and integrates it into a single experience.
You can glimpse in the dark mirror, the soul partials that you try to synthesize into a meaningful whole, but it the consciousness keeps flowing, the experiences change, and as we seem to make sense of our situation, and of ourselves, the landscape shifts and all our assumptions are rendered to rubble.
Our soul can never be whole. But we can allow the champagne to flow unimpeded, and shift with the ebb and flow of the stream, creating subtle influences in our consciousness that flow back to our source, or down to the shining stars amongst us.
It is a subtle, fractal or mandala like energy. It is like the opening and closing of the lotus flower, a waveform like the outline of the lotus flowers’ petals. Ever shifting, but the influence can be found at the right moments.
You just need to pay attention. Watch the energies of your own soul partials, opening and closing like the petals of a lotus flower.
And start to see those individual soul partials as part of a whole greater than us, but also respected consciousnesses of others.
Be thankful that you are not one of those with a single purpose. Or perhaps you are?
You ultimately express the universe as a combination of these partials.
Some of us hold the same partials through one of our iterations. Some of us hold the kernel of partials through many iterations. Some hold our partials lightly, and our souls ebb and flow with the partials that seek a home.
We are living organisms, and we hold multitudes at an organic level. And at a spirit level too.
As we shift into a time of meta cognition, we will start to see that this is not a purely rational cognition.
We are all in a synchronistic dance with one another, in ways that we cannot see in their many and great permutations.
We are starting to see above that meta cognition now, to the underlying souls that are above us, below us, part of us, synthesised through us.
We are the muses of each other. The spirit guides of each other. The teachers and students.
As above, so below. As the lotus flower, we breathe this way because that is how we are designed.
We see ourselves as computer simulations in some kind of matrix today. This is an analogy of this age to help us comprehend a deeper truth. Each age has its own analogy that helps it come closer to the core reality.
I hope some part of what I say here resonates with you.
I’ve had many years of strange experiences that have slowly woven towards a narrative through meditations and writing of many stories, all trying to reach for a central *something*.
One day, after many years of daily Havenings, I was told: ‘Ok, now we begin.’
That was a strange experience, as was the first exploration of my soul partials that happened that evening.
And now, as instructed, I’m sharing with you the first of the awakenings. I hope you find it useful.
